ETL Migration Services

GroupBWT migrates existing ETL pipelines from legacy tools and on‑prem environments to modern cloud platforms without breaking the numbers your business runs on. We focus on controlled cutovers: parallel runs, automated reconciliation, and monitoring that makes failures visible in minutes.

GroupBWT’s ETL Migration

Below are the three service blocks teams most often combine into a predictable migration programme. Start with one domain or one critical pipeline, then scale.

ETL migration services

ETL migration is the controlled process of moving extraction, transformation, and load jobs from one platform to another while keeping outputs consistent, auditable, and recoverable.

  • Source‑to‑target mapping (including edge cases like late‑arriving data)
  • Pipeline rebuild or re‑platform (batch or near‑real‑time)
  • Parallel run with automated reconciliation (row counts, totals, key business metrics)
  • Cutover + rollback plan (so go‑live is reversible, not a leap of faith)
  • Runbooks for reruns, backfills, and incident response

If you need ETL migration engineering services for Airflow, Azure Data Factory, SSIS, Informatica‑style workflows, dbt + orchestration, or custom Python/SQL stacks, we build the new pipelines as production software: versioned, testable, and observable.

ETL migration consulting services

We eliminate costly downstream rework by defining a precise technical blueprint and strict data validation rules before development begins. Our consulting phase solidifies the target architecture, migration approach, and specific “success checks” in language both engineers and business owners can validate.

This is where our expert ETL migration consulting services focus: agreeing on what “same results” means, where differences are acceptable, and which datasets must be provably equivalent before cutover.

  • Migration strategy (lift‑and‑shift vs re‑platform vs re‑architect)
  • Tooling fit assessment (latency, governance, team skills, operating model)
  • Data contract plan (defining schema standards, upstream ownership, and SLAs)
  • Test strategy (unit + integration + reconciliation + regression)
  • Risk register with mitigations and a realistic cutover timeline

Data warehousing solutions

Custom solutions support ETL migration cutovers: lift‑and‑shift stays lift‑and‑shift, and re‑architect happens only if you explicitly choose it. Migration is a strategic opportunity to eliminate accumulated technical debt and resolve structural data quality issues — but it should never be a surprise scope add‑on that makes a “simple migration” feel too expensive or complex.

When the target is Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks, or Azure Synapse, we help you land the data into a model that supports analytics, BI, and ML without constant manual cleanup — under the approach you select (lift‑and‑shift vs re‑platform vs re‑architect) and with compliance controls preserved (for example, GDPR / SOX‑style auditability where applicable).

  • Warehouse/lakehouse target architecture and access model
  • Dimensional modelling or domain‑oriented marts for BI consistency
  • ELT refactors, where it reduces complexity (without losing compliance controls)
  • Data quality gates for freshness, completeness, and anomaly detection
  • Cost controls (partitioning, incremental loads, compute monitoring)

If you’re evaluating options, we can propose ETL migration solutions that match your constraints (compliance, latency, budget) instead of forcing a one‑size tool choice.

ETL Migration Services Delivery Model

01.

Discovery & inventory

We map sources, consumers, dependencies, and SLAs. We profile data to surface schema drift, duplicates, and missing values before they become migration defects.

02.

Design & specification

We establish strict acceptance criteria based on totals and key business metrics. Security and access controls are designed in from the start.

03.

Build & parallel run

We implement the new pipelines with CI/CD, automated tests, and observability. Then we run old and new pipelines side by side until results are provably equivalent.

04.

Cutover & stabilisation

We switch consumers, monitor SLAs, and handle residual issues (late data, backfills, unexpected volume). You get runbooks and ownership handover so the system stays maintainable.

Why choose GroupBWT?

If you need an ETL migration company that treats correctness as a product requirement, our default is: parallel run, reconciliation, visible monitoring, and documented ownership.

Cost-efficiency

We reduce cloud spend by designing for incremental work, not full reloads. Typical cost controls include:

  • Incremental loads + partitioning to avoid expensive scans
  • Compute visibility per pipeline (so costs are attributable)
  • Backfill strategies that don’t duplicate records

Ease of getting started

You get a clear first sprint, not a vague “migration journey.” We typically start with:

  • A pipeline inventory + dependency map
  • One production pipeline rebuilt with tests + monitoring
  • A cutover plan with rollback criteria

Improved productivity

Migration should leave you with fewer manual fixes, not new ones. We improve maintainability through:

  • Consistent naming conventions and documentation
  • CI/CD for pipeline changes (so releases are repeatable)
  • Runbooks that reduce the “only one person knows how it works” risk

What do you like best?

GroupBWT is the preferred choice for competitive intelligence through complex data extraction. Their approach, technical skills, and customization options make them valuable partners. Nevertheless, be prepared to invest time in initial solution development.

What do you dislike?

GroupBWT provided us with a solution to collect real-time data on competitor micro-mobility services so we could monitor vehicle availability and locations. This data has given us a clear view of the market in specific areas, allowing us to refine our operational strategy and stay competitive.

Pavlo U.

What do you like best?

The company's dedication to understanding our needs for collecting competitor data was exemplary. Their methodology for extracting complex data sets was methodical and precise. What impressed me most was their adaptability and collaboration with our team, ensuring the data was relevant and actionable for our market analysis.

What do you dislike?

Finding a downside is challenging, as they consistently met our expectations and provided timely updates. If anything, I would have appreciated an even more detailed roadmap at the project's outset. However, this didn't hamper our overall experience.

FAQ

Do you migrate ETL tools, warehouses, or both?

Both. We migrate processing logic (Orchestrators) and storage targets (On‑prem $\rightarrow$ Snowflake/BigQuery/Synapse). To prevent scope creep, all deliverables are fixed during the discovery phase.

How do you prove the migrated pipelines are correct?

We enforce strict reconciliation rules (Row counts, checksums, anomaly thresholds). We run old and new systems in parallel, and cut over only when New Output == Old Output.

Can you work with our existing Airflow/dbt/Azure Data Factory setup?

Yes. We integrate natively. We adopt and standardize your existing frameworks (alerting, naming conventions) to ensure continuity. We only refactor code if it is technically unstable; we never rebuild for preference.

What are the biggest risks in ETL migrations?

Undocumented transformations, hidden downstream dependencies, and quiet failures (numbers drift without alerts). If compliance “slows you down,” it’s usually because the pipeline wasn’t observable in the first place.

How quickly can we start?

Typically within days. If you have a hard deadline, we start with the highest‑impact pipeline and lock acceptance criteria before implementation.
